제목 | Directional self-assembly of patch hexagram particles at the air/water interface induced by capillary interaction |
초록 | Recently, studies of self-assembly field that can implement a structure without any complicated process are actively done. However, Structures obtained by simple self-assembly are disordered and it is difficult to obtain the desired structure. Directional self-assembly studies are essential to solve this problem. Ordered and desired structures can be obtained via the directional self-assembly. Here, we study directional self-assembly using capillary interaction induced at the air/water interface by utilizing hexagram patch particles. Hexagram patch particles are synthesized by micromolding technique and patch part is hydrophobic, body part is hydrophilic. We control patch size by changing the solvent concentration in the first loading solution and show the difference between directional self-assembly and random self-assembly depending on patch size. When the synthesized patch hexagram particles are loaded at the air/water interface, interfacial deformation occurs around the patch part. It is the driving force of the capillary interaction and provides the adhesion force between them. Finally we confirm the number of interfacial deformation by measuring capillary interaction. |
