제목 Synthesis of Graft and Block Copolymers in Aqueous Media Using Macroinitiator and Macromonomer via Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization
초록 We have successfully synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)-based graft and block copolymers using macroinitiator and macromonomer techniques via atom transfer radical polymerization in aqueous media at room temperature. In this experiment poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) was first prepared via living anionic polymerization of ethylene oxide in the mixture of benzene/dimethyl sulfoxide at 40oC, followed by synthesis of macroinitiator containing bromine atom at the chain end and macromonomer containing methacryloyl group at the chain end. The molecular weight of PEO was successfully controlled and the molecular weights of PEO-based block or graft copolymers were also controlled. In this presentation, the preliminary results for the syntheses of PEO-based block and graft copolymers via atom transfer radical polymerization.
