Recently, planar heterojunction solar cells of [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) and organometal halide perovskite (e.g. CH3NH3PbI3), having high absorption, appropriate band gap, and long exciton diffusion length, have emerged as an cost-efficient renewable energy source due to high efficiency and simply fabrication at low-temperature. In this study, for further increase in efficiency, we applied Ag nanostructure on Indium-doped tin oxide (ITO) substrate by using thermal evaporation. Typically, metallic nanostructures have been introduced to photovoltaics (e.g. Si, GaAs, and organic solar cells) to improve the optical absorption as a result of light-scattering and surface plasmon resonance effect. We will discuss structural, electrical, and optical characteristics of Ag nanostructure and their effect on the performance. |
