제목 Efficient Protocols for Improving the Light Harvesting in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
초록 The photon management is a crucial factor in solar cells to improve the light harvesting of light active material and thus the performance of the cells. In this regards we introduce two efficient-protocols for the integration of functional tailored hybrid nanostructures into dye-sensitized solar cells: (i) To successfully enhance the light trapping, optical waveguides in the form of photonic crystals were introduced. Periodic organic-inorganic multilayer films constructed by stepwise buildup of block copolymer inverse micelles are introduced into the back-side of the counter electrode as light reflecting layers to increase the absorption of dye; (ii) Surface plasmon resonance supported by the use of metallic nanostructures led to enhanced light absorption and photocurrent generation. Plasmonic effects of tailor-designed nanostructures (e.g., Au-TiO2 or Au-Ag core-shell) were demonstrated and improved performance is achieved via photonic and plasmonic charge transfer enhancement.
