제목 Perovskite Quantum Dot-incorporated WO3 Nanoflake Photoanode for Enhancing Solar Water Oxidation
초록 Perovskite quantum dots (PQD) have been considered as a potential candidate for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting catalyst owing to their excellent optical and electronical properties. However, their application in PEC water splitting was limited due to the instability in aqueous system. Recently, numerous efforts to overcome the stability issue have been confirmed such as encapsulating, ligand modifying, and surface engineering. On the other hand, tungsten trioxide (WO3) has been widely studied as a promising material for PEC water splitting with its moderate hole diffusion length and good electron mobility. However, the sluggish surface catalytic kinetics, short minority carrier diffusion length and poor electrical conductance results in rapid recombination of photogenerated charge carriers with short-lived photogenerated holes. Herein, we introduced PQD incorporated with WO3 (PQD/WO3) and achieved about 1.7-fold higher photocurrent density at 1.23 V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE) under 1 sun illumination. PQD broadened the absorption range with improving charge transport and transfer kinetics and showed great stability for 240 min operation supported on WO3.
