The effect of chemical interaction on the thermal expansion behavior of polymer composite |

One of the major issues involved in the development of flexible display is to improve the poor thermal property of polymer substrate. Whereas the glass substrate currently used in display is reported to have below 5 ppm/°C of CTE, majority of the plastic films have CTE higher than 50 ppm/°C. Therefore, in this study, it has been attempted to improve the thermal expansion properties of the polycarbonate system via the formation of nano-silica composite. In order to investigate the effect of chemical attraction on the thermal property of polymeric composites, the silica nano particles modified by the functional group were used. The composite film with the thickness of ca. 100um was prepared by the solvent casting and its optical and thermal properties were characterized. |
