Collagen is a natural substance that is found in skin, muscle, tendons and bones and provides structural support. So, collagen is regarded as one of the most useful biomaterials. Collagen-based biomaterials are expected to become a useful matrix substance for various biomedical applications in the future. The silica particles are stable in water and organic solvents. It is a universal element in the human body that can be found free and soluble in water or combined with proteins and lipids, and has a direct relationship to mineral absorption. The porous silica microspheres have wide applications in the analytical field, such as cosmetics, biocompatible microreactors. The focus of this study is to investigate properties of collagen bead which is the based of porous silica bead. Collagen/silica coating bead materials have been considered for potential biomedical applications. |
