Solubilization of specific anions into an aqueous CTAB (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) or CTAC (cetyltrimethylammonium chloride) solution led to the formation of rod-shaped micelles and became a key shape directing factor to generate one-dimensional Au structures. Through this strategy and seed-mediated methods, Au rods, Au bipyramids, and Au fibers were successfully synthesized in a controllable fashion. We could also fabricate unique raspberry-like (Au RLNPs) and star-shaped gold nanoparticles (Au Multipod NPs) with high surface area. In particular, it is noteworthy that the length of each one-dimensional branch of Au Multipod NPs was finely tuned, and the catalytic performances of Au Multipod NPs were highly dependent on the morphology of Au Multipod NPs. |
