제목 | Effect of Amine Catalysis on the Particle Size and Structure of Sol-Gel Nano-Silica |
초록 | Though ammonia solution has been widely used as a catalyst for synthesis of sol-gel nano-silica, due to the high volatility and related storage problem, researches on other types of sol-gel catalysts are highly desired. In this study, sol-gel nano-silica was synthesized by using various amine catalysts such as ethanolamine(EOA), diethanolamine(DEOA), triethanolamine(TEOA), and polyethyleneimine(PEI). The particle sizes were observed to sharply increase above pH ~11 regardless of the catalyst type. Whereas, the particle size and surface area of nano-silica synthesized at the same pH(11~12) were significantly affected by the type and amount of catalyst. The particle size increased in the order of EOA, NH3, DEOA, and TEOA. In addition, PEI resulted in the formation of porous structure. These results are discussed in terms of basicity and molecular structure of amine catalysts. |
