Fatigue Behaviour of CNT-Polypropylene Nanocomposites by Electro-Micromechanical Techniques |

CNT-polypropylene (PP) nanocomposites were fabricated by solvent dispersion method, and sensing effects were evaluated to predict the internal damage of CNT-PP nanocomposites for industry applications. Mechanical properties and reinforcement effects of CNT-PP composite were investigated and compared as different concentrations. The mechanical properties were improved after adding CNT into PP matrix, because of the reinforcing effect of CNT fillers. In order to predict the internal damage of CNT-PP composite, the change in electrical resistance of the composites was measured under cyclic loading and bending tests. CNT fillers exhibited good sensing under electrical resistance measurements. The electrical resistance of CNT-PP composites increased significantly due to microcracks inside specimen.
