| 제목 | Biological activity of trigonelline-conjugated chitosan |
| 초록 | Trigonelline is a product of niacin metabolism that is excreted in urine. Trigonelline occurs in many plants and isolated from fenugreek seeds, garden peas, hemp seed, oats, potatoes, Stachys species, dahlia, Strophanthus species and Dichapetalum cymosum. Furthermore, trigonelline also found in some legume forages and coffee. Since trigonelline has anti-oxidant activities and anti-bacterial activites, it can be used to bioactive agent to prevent microbial adhesion to teeth and obesity. In this study, we synthesized trigonelline-conjugated chitosan to enhance its biological activities. We studied its antimicrobial activities against various kinds of bacteria. Furthermore, physicochemical properties of trigonelline-chitosan conjugates were studied in vitro. |
