Mordenite is limited to pore sizes of ~15. Materials characteristics similar to zeolites, but with larger pores would be very useful, separate larger molecules and perform catalysis on larger molecules.However, pore blockage caused by coking, and reduced yields and selectivities caused by the slow diffusion rate of reactants and products in zeolite micropores (typically smaller than 1.2 nm) are problems that routinely arise in catalytic applications of zeolites. In this work, this is first report to synthesize mesoporous mordenite using soft template under the microwave irradiation. |
