A nerve gas has been used as a pesticide and an Alzheimer`s disease drug. Here, we present a graphene oxide (GO)-protein hybrid capable of selectively detecting paraoxon. To this end, GO was functionalized with a dextran polymer, and then conjugated with a protein that can selectively recognize paraoxon. The fluorescence response of the GO-protein hybrid to paraoxon was thoroughly investigated to understand the mechanism responsible for selective sensing. The GO-protein hybrid was able to detect paraoxon selectively in single step. |
