제목 Protein-Adjuvant Hybrid Nanovaccines for Enhanced Immune Response
초록 As humanity march on into the 21st century, infectious diseases threatening humans are evermore growing and evolving. Pathogens once treated and prevented with simple antibiotics and vaccines are mutating, making the treatment more difficult. Now with the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the importance of effective and long-lasting vaccines has become paramount. Companies and research institutes around the world are rushing to develop vaccines which would end the pandemic. Various types of vaccines have been developed and are undergoing clinical trials, ranging from traditional inactivated pathogen vaccines to more recently developed mRNA vaccines. In this session, I will briefly talk about the history of vaccines and elaborate on the role of nanoparticle vaccines, particularly the co-administration of adjuvants for enhanced immune responses. Afterwards, I will introduce our on-going work on more efficient antigen-adjuvant co-delivery strategies using lipid nanoparticles.
