제목 | Easily Accessible Ethylene Oligomerization Catalysts Based on Nickel(Ⅱ) Bis(diazene)naphthalene Complex |
초록 | The oligomerization of ethylene is one of the major industrial processes for the production of linear α-olefins. Those oligomers in the range C6-C20 are used as comonomers in the polymerization of ethylene to give linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) or for the preparation of detergents and synthetic lubricants. The commercially practiced Shell High Olefin Process (SHOP) based on the pioneering research of Keim produced olefins in the ranged of C4-C30 at the rate more than one million tons every year. However, it was reported that the SHOP process is performed at 80-120℃ and 70-140bar; such reaction conditions were sometimes harsh. Recently, cationic nickel α-diimine catalysts were reported by Brookhart’s groups. According to the this report, it seems promising to use late transition metal complexes as the promising next generation catalyst for ethylene oligomerization or polymerization at mild conditions. It is supposed that late transition metal complexes have a strong propensity of undergoing b-hydrogen elimination process on the central metal, which would induce ethylene oligomerization. Adjustments of both steric and electronic environment around the central metal through tailoring ligands could improve the catalytic activity and olefins’ distribution. Now we are going to synthesis α-olefin catalyst by neutral nickel(Ⅱ) complexes of bidentate ligands comprising a diazene function –N=N- as a donor. The ligands were prepared from 1,8-diaminonaphthalene and 3,5-dimethylaniline by azo coupling. Nickel(Ⅱ) complexes were obtained by reaction of the ligand with 1 equiv of (DME)Ni(Ⅱ)Br2 in the presence of CH2Cl2. Scheme 1. Novel nickel-based bis(diazene)naphthalene complex |
