Heterogeneous cation membranes were prepared by blending cation-exchange particles and linear polyketone. This present work deals with the influence of the membrane preparation conditions on the properties. The polyketone was dissolved in the solvent(Resorcinol) under stirring at 80℃ then blended with cation-exchange particles. After blending, a cost effective casting method was conducted. The effect of loading of resin on the properties of the membranes such as water uptake, electrical resistance, ion exchange capacity(IEC), transport number etc. have been studied. The results revealed that the concentration of resin particles in the membrane affects IEC, water uptake and electrical resistance of the heterogeneous membrane. |
