One of the norditerpenoids compound, Harringtonolide, has been isolated from the cephalotaxus genus. They have a compact tetracyclic architecture with a cis-fused tricyclic ring bearing several contiguous stereogenic centers. They have shown interesting biological activities such as plant growth inhibitory, antiviral, and antineoplastic activities. For the synthesis of harringtonolid having considerabel biological activity, we have suggested Retro synthetic strategy with short and simple pathway. Harringtonolide could be prepared from a small molecule, 6-hydroxytetralone, through the several reaction steps (Robinson annulation, Hydrogenation, Bromination). In this study, optimization of these reactions will be introduced. |
