제목 | Cancer therapy with stem cell based immunomodulator |
초록 | Over the past decades, photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been verified their capability to trigger the immune system for cancer treatment. Furthermore, nanotechnology-based immunotherapy has been investigated to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of PDT. However, PDT has some limitations such as toxicity and short half-life. To resolve the limitations, we fabricated human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) based immunomodulator. We engineered the hMSC surface and conjugated the polymer and photosensitizer (hMSC-PP). This compound can migrate to the cancer and make them secrete pro-inflammatory cytokines under specific wavelength of laser. These cytokines activate immune system by triggering IL-2,IL-4. Also under laser irradiation, hMSC-PP could accumulate cytokines at tumor without any side effects. With various experiments, we observed this compound could induce immune cells and increase cytokine concentration at tumor site. Thus, hMSC-PP showed their potential for cancer immunotherapy. |
