In this work, hybrid fillers, such as carbon fibers(CFs) and graphite flakes(GFs), were employed to prepare thermal conductive polymer(PP matrix) composites. In order to increase thermal conductivity of the composites, thermal conductive fillers, such as various lengths CFs and GFs, were used. The CFs with various lengths were prepared in the range of 3~25 mm, and reinforced with 20 phr in all composite samples by a compression molding technique. The content of GFs was fixed at 20 phr. A hot plate-type thermal conductivity meter was used to measure thermal properties of the composites. The control of carbon fiber length in the composites might play as a heat gate between CF/GF and matrix resulting in a decrease in the thermal loss of the composites. |
