Improved Dissolution Property of Poorly Water-soluble Drug Induced by Crystallization Confinement using ‘Porous Mannitol Template' |

In the pharmaceutical industry, the problems of the poorly water-soluble drugs have been discussed. In this study, we proposed the solution for improving the dissolution property of the poorly water-soluble drugs through crystallization confinement performed by ‘Porous mannitol template’. The porous template was prepared by directional freezing and freeze drying in sequence. Because of the high viscosity of the mannitol aq. solution and rapid melt crystallization, the pores size of template was from hundreds of nanometer to tens of micrometer. The drug was undergone evaporation crystallization in theses pores and the volume of pores confined the growth of the drug particles. The particles size was analyzed by the Mie-Fraunhofer light scattering method. The size of particles decreased to less than 1um. The crystallization confinement of drug particles using porous mannitol template is an effective techniques to strength the dissolution property of poorly water-soluble drugs. |
