The construction of nanostructured materials is an important area of research in modern materials science and of technological importance. The layer by layer technique, in which successive layers of cationic particles are deposited, alternated by layers of an anionic polymer. The modification of particle surface properties, which is often accomplished by coating the the particles or encapsulating them within a shell of a desired material. Composite particles are widely exploited in the areas of coatings, electronics, photonics, catalysis. Silica nanosize particles 20㎚ in diameter, and spherical polyethylene (PE) 10 μm in mean particle diameter were used as nanosize particles and core materials respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that the silica nanoparticles were fixed on the surface of the PE beads, and a nanoparticles coated PE bead was formed by a dry impact blending preparation method when the ratios of the nanoparticles and core particle by the dry impact blending of a binary particles mixture which contains two different sizes.
