제목 A study on the possibility of fuel usage by direct combustion of microalgae
초록 Microalgae have garnered considerable attention owing to their high CO2 fixation rate, outstanding productivity and oil content. microalgal biomass was contemplated as a promising feedstock for biodiesel. however, various energy intensive downstream processes lower the CO2 reduction efficiency of the bio-derived liquid fuel. In this sense, direct combustion of microalgal biomass is worth considering as a real CO2 reduction strategy owing to the simple production processes. Herein, we conducted the holistic assessment on microalgae as a direct combustion fuel in terms of the energy yield, calorific productivity, combustion performance as well as CO2 sequestration ability.
