제목 Thermo responsive Poly(Vinyl caprolcatam-co-Hydroxy ethylmethacrylate) gels: Invitro drug release studies
초록 Poly(N-vinyl caprolactam-co-2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate) P(VCL-co-HEMA) gels were synthesized in ethanol by using free radical crosslinking method in the presence of AIBN as initiator and methylene bisacrylamide as crosslinker. Metformin hydrochloride (MHC) anti diabetes drug was loaded into these gels during in situ polymerization (method-I) as well as by the absorption and adsorption technique (method-II). The thermo responsive gels have been characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD) to understand the drug dispersion in the gels. In vitro release studies were carried out at two different temperatures 25 and 370C in intestinal atmospheres for 12h. The swelling degree of the P(VCL-co-HEMA) gels was found to be increased with increases of environmental temperature. In vitro release of MHC has been studied in terms of gels comp, the amount of crosslinking agent and MHC in the gels.
