In this regard, we designed and synthesized a series of phenothiazine derivative related to the adsorption mode on π-conjugation. And also we tried to improve the efficiency through band gap tuning and steric effects by introducing N-phenyl alkyl group. In particular, the influence of the different π-conjugated groups on the electron injection efficiency, charge recombination and defect density as well as the photovoltaic performance of DSSCs was investigated. Amongst them, the PREDCN2 dye exhibited the highest efficiency of 8.32%. The device based on PREDCN2 dye show significantly enhanced Jsc relative to those of the PRSCN2 dye with thiophene devices, under the same conditions. The ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) studies and density of state (DOS) were performed to explain the high performance of the DSSCs based on PREDCN2 dye |
