제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Photosensitive Sulfonated Polyimides for Fuel Cell Application
초록 The sulfonated polyimide copolymers as membrane materials used in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) have a common disadvantage of poor water stability when soaked in water. The objective of this study was to improve the water sorption and mechanical stability of sulfonated polyimide copolymers by introducing a photocrosslinkable moiety in the main chain. The novel photosensitive sulfonated polyimides were successfully synthesized by copolymerization of 4,4’-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride (6FDA), 4,4’-diaminodiphenyl ether-2,2’-disulfonic acid (SODA) and 3,3’-diaminochalcone (3DAC) as a photosensitive unit. A series of sulfonated polyimides were prepared with different sulfonation degrees by controlling the molar ratio of SODA to 6FDA and 3DAC. The chemical structures of copolymers were characterized by 1H-NMR and FT-IR spectroscopies, and the sulfonation degree was determined by elemental analysis. The polymer membranes were prepared by solution casting method and crosslinking with UV irradiation was attempted. The result of the characterizations including the ion-exchange capacity, water sorption, proton conductivity and tensile measurement will be presented with respect to the photocrosslinking degree and the copolymer compositions.
