제목 Strain-induced single-photon emitters in hexagonal boron nitride with metasurfaces
초록 Two-dimensional (2D) materials have been widely studied because of their interesting electronic and optoelectronic properties since the exfoliation of graphene in 2004. In recent years, single-photon emitters (SPEs) in 2D materials have emerged as promising candidates for quantum computing and quantum communications. Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), a wide-bandgap 2D material, has atomic-like defects that result in room-temperature SPEs. Deterministic activation of SPEs in hBN has been realized by various methods including integration with nanostructures, ion implantation, electron beam irradiation. SPEs are induced by the strain of few-layer hBN integrated into dielectric metasurfaces. In this study, we report room-temperature polarized SPEs, which are induced by the strain in certain directions that results from designed metasurfaces.
