We successfully synthesized a new type of molecular rotor dye with polymerizable allyl group. Copolymerizaion of the allyl-based dye with several vinyl monomers of HEMA, MMA, St, AN was conducted to develop new types of solid-state viscosity sensor materials. We prepared the copolymer films using the casting method and investigated their fluorescence (FL) emission properties compared to the solutions. Very interestingly, the FL intensity of the film was much greater several hundred times relative to those of the corresponding solutions. When the films were contacted to viscous media, the FL emission was significantly changed according to the media viscosity. We will demonstrate their viscosity sensing performances in detail at the conference. |
