In the present research, it was focused to study the curing kinetics of a special epoxy-type vinyl ester resins as the preliminary study, which will be applied in the future work of our laboratory for the development of a fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) using polyester resins as a binder. Dynamic DSC curves obtained exhibited multiple peaks, showing individual influence of temperature on each fundamental reaction steps in the free radical polymerization. And overall reaction rate equation was fitted well with autocatalytic reaction model. Activation energy obtained by Kissinger analysis was calculated as 19.3 kJ/mol. |
