Deformable and See-through Optoelectronics Based on All-Conducting-Polymer Electrodes |

Flexible and see-through displays have been explored to create a new human-machine interfaces. However, brittle transparent conducting oxide and opaque metal electrodes employed in current LED technologies are incapable to meet desired mechanical and optical features. Herein we report a demonstration of flexible and transparent light-emitting devices by using a highly deformable and solution-processable polymeric transparent electrode as both bottom and top electrodes. The resulting polymer LEDs exhibit outstanding dual-side light-outcoupling performance with high optical transmittance of 75% at 550 nm wavelength and excellent mechanical durability. Moreover, by employing the polymeric electrodes, we also demonstrate a highly stretchable and transparent alternating current electroluminescent devices with unimpaired performance at 50% tesile strain. Our approach is expected to open a new avenue for wearable transparent displays that could expand next-generation human-machine interfaces. |
