제목 | Effect of High Dielectric Anisotropy Compound on the Electro-optical Properties of HPDLC |
초록 | Effects of a high dielectric anisotropy compound on the electro-optic properties of holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal(HPDLC) have been studied. Commercial Disperse Red 1 dye(Aldrich) was used as high dielectric anisotropy compound. Surfactant and 2,2,2 trifluoroethyl acrylate(TFEA) ware added to the monomer mixture to enhance the phase separation and improve optical properties. The content of a high dielectric anisotropy compound and LC have been systematically varied for HPDLC. The morphology of holographic gratings is examined using atomic force microscopy(AFM) and scanning electon microscopy(SEM). Real time measurements of grating formation have been obtained according to the content of a high dielectric anisotropy compound and LC. Adding a few percent of such dye into LC lowered the threshold voltage and improved the electro-optical qualities. |
