Aerial Oxidation of Ethylbenzene over Co(cyclam)-SBA-15/16 |

Here, we report investigation of catalytic property of heterogenized Co(cyclam) complex on SBA-15/16 mesoporous material in ethylbenzene oxidation with molecular oxygen as terminal oxygen. Prior to synthesis Co(cyclam)-SBA-15/16, chloropropyl anchored SBA-15/16 were synthesized by using both post synthesis method and direct synthesis method under microwave irradiation. Loading and dispersion of cobalt complex inside the mesopore of the catalyst together with accessibility of the mesopore seem to important role in catalytic activity and selectivity. The redox cycle of thermodynamically and kinetically stable cobalt cyclam complex allow the catalyst recyclable several times. Addition of axial base to the anchored Co(cyclam)-SBA-15/16 was found to both stabilize the catalyst and enhance the catalytic activity. |
