제목 | Correlative characterizations on functional high entropy materials |
초록 | Recently, high entropy alloys have received much attention due to their novel alloy design concept and the resulting superior properties. High entropy alloys are designed with near equi-atomic compositions of various elements to maximize the entropy of the alloy, which is distinguished from conventional alloys having one principal element with various minor elements. As a result, high entropy alloys have been reported to exhibit excellent properties in various fields. Most of these reports have focused on mechanical properties for structural applications, and functional properties are limited. In this talk, we introduce two kinds of high & medium entropy materials for functional applications, i.e. AlFeCoCrMn for soft magnetic and NbCoSn for thermoelectric applications. To elucidate the correlation between the functional properties and the microstructure of the two alloys, we carried out correlative analyses. Especially, combination of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atom probe tomography (APT) revealed the elemental partitioning as well as crystal structure in nanometer-scale. From these results, we suggest that high entropy materials have great potentials for functional materials as well as structural materials. |
