제목 Removal of iodide by silver exchanged zeolite micromotor from radioactive liquid waste
초록 Iodine is one of the radionucleotides that is found in low concentrations in nuclear waste. However, it is important to remove this radionucleotide because of influence on human metabolic processes and its long half-life. In this study, Silver-exchanged zeolite(AgX) was prepared using a ion-exchange procedure with an aqueous solution of silver nitrate at room temperature. Then, AgX was coated with nickel(Ni) and platinum(Pt). Ni and Pt coated AgX(AgX/Ni/Pt) has magnetic and self-propelled property in H2O2 solution. Our micromotor effectively removed the iodine by precipitation in the form of silver iodine in zeolite. Additionally, the applicability of our AgX/Ni/Pt in water was fully investigated in terms of the adsorption kinetics, adsorption isotherms, effects of pH and competing ions. Silver exchanged zeolite micromotor can be useful to remove iodide from not only nuclear accident site but also radiation medical therapy waste.
