제목 |
Synthesis of Vanadium doped WO3 photocatalyst by microwave method and to study its physicochemical properties |

WO3 nanopowder was synthesized by Microwave method using Ammoniummetatungstate as a source and doped with vanadium metal using vanadium acetate by impregnation method. The materials obtained were characterized by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Specific Surface Area of the samples was measured by BET method. Photocatalytic activity was studied by the degradation of Methylene Blue and it followed the pseudo first order kinetics. Our experiments showed that the doping of the WO3 by the vanadium enhanced the photocatalytic degradation of Methylene Blue under UV and visible light irradiation than by the undoped WO3. These results may help us to achieve our goal of making photocatalysts most effective under visible region of the solar spectrum. |
