Additive manufacturing (AM) is an interesting technology to replace the general fabrication technologies, such as machining and casting. In particular, there are two main benifits, such as freedom of the part design and decrease of the material consumtion. For improving the product quality using its advantages, many researchers investigated the mechanical characteristics of AM products and the parameters of additive process. in addition, effects of the hot isostatic pressing (HIP), which have influence on volume density and porosity of the specimen, was studied. In this research, the tensile and the fatigue tests for stainless steel 316L manufactured using powder bed fusion technology were conducted. These tests were carried out for two different building directions, such as Z and X axes, in order to investigate the effect of the additive direction. Based on the test results, the change of the mechanical properties due to the HIP treatment is investigated. |
