Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(p-phenylene)-based Ionomer with Controlled Molecular Weight and Sulfonated Multi-phenyl Pendant Groups for PEMFC |
초록 |
PEMFC (polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell) have attracted increasing attention as a promising power source for vehicular transportation and other practical applications. In this system, polymer electrolyte membranes essentially act as a proton conductor and anode/cathode separator. We synthesized Poly(p-phenylene)-based membrane materials by Ni(ǁ)-catalyzed coupling polymerization. We have investigated their physical properties and morphology. This membrane showed well-developed separation between the hydrophilic and hydrophobic domains and also showed highly connected hydrophilic channels, which gave enhanced proton conduction and good dimensional stability. |
