Photocatalytic CO2 reduction has the ability to solve global warming problems; but the challenges are realizing a low-cost, photocorrosion-stable photocatalysts having high visible light absorption. Herein, a mesoporous p-type/n-type heterojunction material, CuxO−TiO2 (x = 1, 2), is synthesized via annealing of Cu/Cu2O nanocomposites mixed with a TiO2 precursor (TiCl4). The photocatalysts shows an enhanced visible light absorption with better charge separation ability, a phenomena mainly attributed to intrinsic p-n heterojunction formation. With our optimal sample, we achieve a CO2 photoreduction in to CH4 yield of 221.63 ppmg-1h-1 under AM 1.5G condition. |
