제목 | The Al2O3 effect on the structure and thermal properties of phosphate glasses |
초록 | In this study, thermal properties of phosphate glasses containing alumina and alkali oxide were measured. Aluminophosphate structural network of these glasses was investigated with increasing alumina contents. Alumina was selected to control the structural network of aluminophosphate glass since conventional explanation has been that Al tetrahedral and P tetrahedral form cross linked AlOP networks. The thermal expansion, glass transition temperature and viscosity at high temperature of aluminophosphate glass were determined. In general, alumina additions increase the glass transition temperature, decease thermal expansion. However, the composition/thermal property relationships are other influenced by relative cation ratios and thus the overall O/P ratio. Compositional variations that change the dominant phosphate structure from metaphosphate and orthophosphate are accompanied by a transformation in the dominant Al coordination, complicating the effect that alumina has on glass properties.
