Effect of N and S co-doping on photoelectrochemical performance of TiO2 nanorods |
초록 |
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a prominent photocatalyst due to its superior photocatalytic activity and chemical stability. However, it requires relatively high photon energy to be activated because of the wide band gap energy (~3.4 eV). Numerous strategies for narrowing the band gap of TiO2 have been proposed. Amongst, doping of TiO2 with non-metals (N and S) is the most effective way. So, in the present work, TiO2 nanorods were co-doped with N and S by the hydrothermal process to improve light absorption. The X-ray diffraction results confirmed the successful co-doping of N and S in TiO2 without affecting its tetragonal crystal structure. The photoelectrochemical performance (PEC) performance of TiO2 was improved after co-doping of N and S. All the results will be presented and discussed in detail. |
