제목 Improving Coating Efficiency of Bio-inspired Catecholamine via Calcium Peroxide-mediated Oxygen Supply
초록 Surface functionalization has received attention as a vital step to regulate the functionality of biomaterials. Recently, mussel-derived adhesive molecules have been extensively used because of their strong adhesiveness to various substrates. However, they still exhibit limitations such as long reaction time owing to the lack of oxygen during the oxidative reaction. Herein, we report a facile surface modification via calcium peroxide (CP) that can generate oxygen to accelerate the oxidation of dopamine. We demonstrate that generated oxygen facilitates the oxidation of catechol molecules, resulting in improving the coating efficiency of catecholamines. Also, we utilized ultra-low binding substrates to create three-dimensional cell spheroids. In summary, our approach holds great potential as an advanced platform of the surface functionalization for various biomedical applications.
