The main components of lithium-ion battery (LIB) are cathode, anode, separator, electrolyte and binder. Especially, the binder serves to maintain binding capacity inside of the active materials, and between the current collector - active materials. Nowadays, various types of binders are widely used, and among them, polyvinylidenefluoride (PVdF) is the most basically utilized for cathodes and anodes in LIB. However, PVdF is easily weakend and loosened at high temperatures, and the bonding force in the active material is reduced, the mechanical strength to bonding is easily weakened. Herein, we prepared the fluorinated polyimides (FPI) that introducing trifluoromethyl groups (-CF3) which received more attention due to its enhanced solubility and thermal stability. FPI were synthesized from 4,4′- (hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride (6FDA) and 4,4-Oydianilline (ODA) which has aromatic structure. FPI was applied as a binder for LIB, and also compared with PVdF. |
