The interest in energy-storage devices has boomed in recent years because of the use of intermittent energy generated by green sources, longer autonomy and miniaturization of portable devices, the search for competitive cost and performance of hybrid and electric cars. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), also known as coordination polymers or coordination networks, have attracted tremendous attention because of their high accessible surface areas, tunable pore sizes, open metal sites and ordered crystalline structures. Thanks to the flexible and robust framework of MOFs, partial substitution of the metal cations in a MOF structure to form the mixed metal MOFs has already been demonstrated. Therefore, we can expect it to have superior performance as a supercapacitor by adding Zn, compared with previous reports of Ni-MOF. Electrochemical properties were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and charge-discharge (CD) in 6M KOH electrolyte. |
