Fabrication and characterization of BMP-2 and VEGF coated on Gelatin- Pectin- BCP composite as scaffold for bone regeneration |

In this study, composite of Gelatin (Gel)-Pectin (Pec)-biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP), scaffolds were fabricated successfully for bone regeneration. Then two type of growth factor BMP-2 and VEGF coated on surface of scaffold. The incorporating of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP-2) and vascular enthedlidal growth factor (VEGF) promoted osteoinduction in Gel-Pec-BCP was developed for bone induction. The physical properties were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), porosity, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). In vitro experiment was done by studying of cytotoxicity using MTT assay, and immunoflourescene for cell behavior. In vivo study was done by implantation in rat model, it is concluded that our modified scaffolds hold a great candidate for bone tissue engineering application. |
