Graphene oxide (GO), a highly oxidized graphene sheet, is a 2D nanosheet with carbon hexagonal lattice and polar functional groups containing oxygen atom, attributing to high CO2 sorption properties, attached to it. In the gas separation field, therefore, GO membranes exhibit good CO2 separation properties. GO nanosheets can be incorporated into polymer membranes by blending expected to enhance both mechanical and gas transport properties. There has been, however, few researches on GO as a crosslinker in spite of its high potential stemming from functional groups available for further reaction. Here, GO/polymer membranes were prepared by crosslinking reaction between polar groups on GO basal plane and bi-functional oligomers at different temperatures. Crosslinking of two components were analyzed by gas transport, mechanical, chemical properties characterization. Degree of crosslinking within these GO/polymer nanocomposites strongly affected the gas transport of the membranes. |
