In this study we are reporting a simple precipitation method for manganese oxide (MnO2) nanoparticles synthesis using manganese chloride and urea in aqueous solution. The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The catalytic activity of as-prepared material was investigated for hydrolysis reaction of sodium borohydride and it is found that MnO2 show excellent H2 production in title reaction. The results indicate that urea is an attractive material that can be used as precipitation agent for preparing MnO2. |
