A Study on Energy Storage System Including Organic Semiconductor and Novel Core Groups for Organic Functional Materials |

We have first tried to use organic semiconductor materials as a novel supercapactitor component. The organic semiconductor can be chosen from OLED emitters which is highly stable in ion state because of similar mechanism in OLED operation. We synthesized new blue polymer emitter, Poly(9-(3-vinyl-phenyl)-anthracene)(PVPA) which has 455nm emission in film state by using four chemical steps. PVPA showed highly thermal property of 105 oC Tg and it can be applicable to electrical application. It was allowed to mix with multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNT) based on specific weight ratio of 1:0.85. PVPA cluster was found with 100 to 200 nm size and was surrounded by MWNT of less than 40nm radius. PVPA/MWNT sample increased at most three times specific supercapacitor value compared to MWNT itself. It may be attributed by increased specific surface area and increased carrier mobility due to PVPA. |
