제목 Fatigue and Fracture performances of low temperature materials
초록 Due to the reinforcement of environmental regulations for sulfur and nitrogen oxides, increased consumption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) led to the demand for design and manufacture of LNG vessels. One of the most important issues associated with LNG and ethane storage tanks is their structural integrity. In order to ensure the structural integrity of LNG and ethane storage tanks used under operating conditions such as thermal and cyclic loadings, the evaluation of fatigue and fracture performances for low temperature materials are considered to be of particular importance.
The aim of this research is a comprehensive review of the fatigue and fracture performances of low temperature alloys such as SUS304L, Al 5083-O nickel alloy and high manganese steels for integrity assessment of LNG and ethane gas storage tanks. In addition, the values of fatigue ductile to brittle transition (FDBT) for nickel steels were suggested by fatigue crack propagation and fracture toughness. In order to find suitable fatigue crack propagation design curve, material constants of nickel steels were compared with those of BS 7910 standard
