제목 Microbial electrosynthesis using bio-cathode of PANI/GF improves acetate production and start-up time
초록 Microbial electrosynthesis is abiocathode-driven production of several types of chemicals from CO2. Electron uptake of bacteria from cathode isa key step in the acetate production from CO2 of MES. Here, wedeveloped a novel graphite felt electrode electrodeposited using polyaniline(PANI/GF). The high biocompatibility and conductivity of PANI promotes biofilmformation by increasing the interfacial interaction between the cathode andelectroactive microorganisms. The physicochemical properties of PANI/GF are analyzed by FE-SEM, SEM-EDS, FT-IR,Raman spectroscopy. The PANI/GF produced higher acetate production (53mM) thanthe unmodified GF (33mM). Physicochemicaland electrochemical analyses showed that PANI/GF electrodes promoted theformation and enrichment of biofilms. These results demonstrate that PANI/GF isa promising cathode material for MES.
