제목 Determination of two dimensional energy landscape of capillary interactions between colloidal particles with geometric anisotropy via optical laser tweezers
초록 Geometrically anisotropic colloidal particles located at a two dimensional oil-water interface exhibits an abnormally strong and long-ranged capillary force caused by interfacial deformation, compared to the case when the particles are dispersed in a single-phase medium. In previous study, optical laser tweezers were employed to quantify heterogeneous and anisotropic capillary interactions between ellipsoid particles at an oil-water interface based on the trap-release method and the rotational force measurement. In the context of generalization of capillary interactions of various non-spherical particles, we develop the methodology to directly visualize energy landscape of capillary interactions around multiparticle assemblies as well as individually isolated particles.
