MWNTs (Multi-walled Carbon nanotubes) have been received significant attention due to extraordinary mechanical, electrical, and thermal characteristics. When MWNTs are used as fillers in polymer matrix, various properties of the composites are improved. In this study, styrene and multiwalled carbon nanotubes were synthesized by in-situ dispersion polymerization with N-vinyl carbazole as a basic comonomer in alcohol medium. The MWNTs were functionalized with chemical modification to introduce carboxylic groups onto the surfaces of MWNTs for uniform dispersion. The synthesized PS/MWNTs microparticles were investigated by SEM, TGA, and zeta potential measurement. |
